Par is what the standard is. If a hole is a par 4 you are expected to finish the hole in 4 strokes.
Birdie (which you will seldom if ever read about my golf exploits) is one under par.
Bogie is one over. Double or triple (which you will read often here) kind of explain themselves.
And yes I am celebrating the holiday tomorrow by going out and golfing again.
I may try iambic pentameter to describe tomorrow's game lol
